The Photographs

In the spring of 2008, my wife, Stephanie, gave birth to our second child, Alice. That fall we euthanized our 11-year-old dog, Woofie.

I photographed those two days as part of my family's visual record.

The images were not made with any specific presentation in mind; rather, they were made because each experience was something I wanted to remember and share.

The idea for presenting these photographs, paired and in chronological order, evolved through collaboration with family, friends and professional colleagues. Thank you all.
